Goodhope Pipeline

The Department of Water Affairs is upgrading the water supply, storage and distribution systems at Goodhope Village and the Sub - District. The present water supply infrastructure and storage facilities are inadequate and are to be augmented to meet the projected 20-year design horizon (2029).The project has been divided into two phases with phase 1 being for design and construction of water transmission mains to service the Goodhope village but with a capacity to service the whole sub-district.

Phase 2 is for interconnection transmission lines to service the whole sub-district comprising of the remaining 25 villages. Design for phase 1 was completed in 2008. Construction commenced in September 2012 and was completed in August 2014. Designs for Phase 2 were completed in September 2013. Due to limited resources at present construction work to connect only 2 villages of phase 2 villages has commenced with anticipated completion date of 22 April 2016.
